Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the most common Vysora Studio questions: stale configurators, models that will not recolour, wrong sizes, who can see your link.
I changed something and my live configurator didn't update
Nothing you change in Vysora Studio reaches a live configurator until you publish it again. Product edits, zone mapping, materials, prices, your logo, your business details — all of them are snapshotted at the moment you publish, then frozen. Open the configurator, press Publish, and the same link and embed code start serving the new version. If it is the logo or business details you changed, hard-refresh the page the player is embedded in as well, because the browser caches it. See Publishing.
The preview inside the builder works the same way: it is the last published player, not your draft. It will not show your edits either.
My customers can't recolour anything
Almost always this is unmapped zones. A zone is a recolourable part of your model, and it only offers swatches once you assign a material folder to it. A model with no folders assigned still uploads, still processes, still publishes, and looks completely finished in Studio — the customer has nothing to click.
Open the model from Models, press Settings, and go to the Material groups tab. Each zone that reads Not customisable needs a folder. Assign one, press Save settings, then republish the configurator. See Mapping zones to folders.
If there are no folders to assign, build them first in the Materials library — a folder exists once its first material is saved into it.
My model is the wrong size
The source unit was wrong. Vysora normalises everything to metres, and normalising from the wrong unit scales the whole model by the wrong factor — along with the snap grid, the dimensions your customer reads, and the camera framing.
Open the model's Settings, go to Placement (or Size & scale), set Source unit to the unit the model was actually authored in, and press Re-process. It re-derives from your original upload, so scale never compounds. Correct it as many times as you need.
Two things before you do it. Re-process closes the settings window and discards every unsaved edit on every tab, so press Save settings first. And re-processing can change the zone list, which means folder assignments may need redoing. See Source units and scale.
Why does my model say WARNINGS instead of READY?
Because processing finished and produced at least one non-blocking note about the model. WARNINGS is a successful result. The model works, publishes and behaves exactly like a READY one — a model with warnings never shows READY, which is why yours never goes green.
Hover the pill to read them, or open the model's Settings where they are listed at the top. Each one is explained on Error and warning messages. The ones worth acting on are the single-material warning and anything about units; the rest are usually informational.
Why can I only see one material on my model?
Your model was exported with a single material, so it has a single zone. Vysora creates one zone per material boundary in your export, and with one boundary the customer can only recolour the object as a whole. You will have seen the warning: This model has one material, so customers can only recolour it as a whole.
Studio cannot split a zone that does not exist in the file. Go back to your modelling tool, assign a distinct material to each part you want recolourable — seat, legs, frame — and re-export. Vysora creates a zone for each one automatically. See Preparing zones.
Two causes catch people out. An OBJ upload carries no materials at all, because the .mtl and texture sidecars cannot travel with a single file — upload GLB or FBX instead. And materials that are identical in every respect can be merged during optimisation, so give each zone's material a genuinely distinct colour or name rather than relying on slot separation alone.
Can I have more than one published configurator?
You can build as many as you like. How many can be live at once depends on your plan and product line: on the Studio line every self-serve plan allows one, while Showroom and Atelier allow 1, 5 and 25 on Free, Starter and Pro. The full table is on Limits and supported formats.
At the allowance, publishing another is refused with Your plan allows 1 published configurator. Unpublish an existing one or upgrade your plan to publish another. Unpublishing frees the slot immediately. Republishing something already live is never counted against the allowance.
Who can see my published configurator?
Anyone with the link. There is no password, no allow-list, no expiry and no sign-in. The link works for anyone you send it to and for anyone who finds it, and the same is true of any page you embed it on.
The configurator's data file is public too. It carries the product list, the whole material palette, any prices you set, and the addresses of your model files, and anyone who can read your embed code can fetch it directly. Treat everything you publish as published — if a price or a product is not ready to be public, do not put it in a live configurator. Unpublishing stops the link being served. See Publishing.
I renamed a material folder and the old name is still showing
The folder has to be re-picked on the product. Renaming updates every material in it straight away, but a published configurator keeps the old name until you re-pick — this is the one change in the product where a republish on its own is not enough.
Open each affected model from Models, press Settings, go to Material groups, remove the old folder from the zone and add the renamed one, press Save settings, then republish the configurator. See Material folders.
Where do quote requests go?
To Orders, under the Quote requests tab. Each one shows the customer, the configuration they built, when it arrived, and a status you can move through New, Replied, Won and Lost. Expanding a row shows the items, their materials, the customer's message and phone number, and an Email button that opens your mail client.
Nothing notifies you. There is no email and no alert — the only signal is the counter on the Orders nav item, which you have to be looking at Studio to see. Check it on a schedule rather than waiting to be told.
Can I get my configurator back after unpublishing?
Yes. Unpublishing takes the link out of service and frees your published-configurator slot, but it deletes nothing — the configurator, its menu tree, its settings and its products all stay exactly as they were, now marked DRAFT. Open it in the builder and press Publish to put it back online. Take the link and embed code from the publish result afterwards and check them against what is on your website, since the version numbering restarts.
Delete is hidden while a configurator is published and takes the place of Unpublish once it is not. Deleting removes the menu tree permanently and cannot be undone.
Why doesn't my model appear in the Product picker?
It has not finished processing. A model that is still UPLOADING, CONVERTING or PROCESSING, or one that came back FAILED, is absent from the picker with no explanation. Check its status on the Models page, and wait for it or fix it. A model showing WARNINGS is finished and does appear. See Uploading models.
Nothing happened when I pressed Save — did it work?
Yes. Studio has no confirmation messages. Save settings, Copy link, Copy embed code, Move, Rename and bulk operations all succeed silently — the dialog closes, or nothing visible happens at all, and that is the success case. A failure is loud by comparison: it prints an error in red and leaves the dialog open.
The one place worth double-checking is copying, since a clipboard can fail quietly in some browsers. Paste it somewhere before you rely on it.
